How To Paint Kylo Ren In 60 Seconds

60 N 60

A timelapse video of a painting of the leader of the Knights of Ren in the Star Wars universe.

Transcript:

Kylo’s mask is based on a round helmet and a series of concentric swerves and lines, and unlike his grandfather’s, Kylo’s helmet is not as shiny. I try to stay away from pure white and pure black in my paint palette even for a painting like this. The darkest dark is ebony and the lightest light is a mixture of titanium white (not pure white) and crimson. The use of pure pigments, even digital ones, can make a painting look plastic and can add an unrealistic tone to it.
