A time lapse video of a painting of Darth Vader damaged by Obi Wan Kenobi.

Transcript:

Hello, everyone, welcome to Brush of Magic. I’m Ronn Stern. Thank you for joining us as we learn to paint the wounded dark lord of the Sith time lapsed into a 60-second video.

Body: Darth Vader and Obi-Wan Kenobi faced off against one another multiple times, and our painting shows the result of their fight as seen in the Obi-Wan Kenobi television series. After Obi-Wan sliced through Vader’s helmet, Anakin’s face shows underneath and we see that his emotional and spiritual fall to the dark side is complete. When depicting damage, it’s important to me to create the original item in its undamaged state, to help me relate the shape and form correctly. To me this helps make the painting more realistic and believable for the viewer.

Closing: Remember, 10 minutes of painting a day, every day, is the best thing you can do to propel your art. Subscribe to learn more tips on how to paint your favorite characters.
